The Runner position at Sheraton San Diego Resort is a vital role within the team, designed to enhance the overall dining experience for guests. As a Runner, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of food and beverages from the kitchen to guest tables, collaborating closely with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate orders seamlessly. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to verify order accuracy and presentation before the guests receive their meals. Runners also assist with food preparation tasks such as garnishing dishes and maintaining cleanliness within the dining areas. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Capability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and lifting regularly
  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
  • Familiarity with safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality is an advantage

Job Duties

  • Ensure efficient and timely delivery of food and beverages to guests, collaborating with servers and kitchen staff
  • Verify order accuracy and presentation before serving, assisting with food preparation and garnishing dishes
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dining area and ensure all equipment is in working order
  • Complete opening, closing, and side work tasks, setting up food carts and stations for service
  • Monitor each guest's dining experience, pre-set tables for dining, and clear tables for the next course
  • Communicate effectively with all staff to enhance guest service and satisfaction
  • Adhere to 4 Keys service standards, safety standards, and hotel policies and procedures
