This job opening is for the position of a Host at Ru Yi, an essential role focused on managing guest seating and dining flow efficiently while providing friendly and professional service to all patrons. The position offers a starting pay of $14.03 per hour plus tips and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Being a Ru Yi Host demands a genuine passion for guest service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle high volumes of guest interactions without compromising the quality of service. The Ru Yi Host will manage seating charts, monitor venue activity, input reservations into a digital system, and assist guests with online ordering and kiosk usage. Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and managing phone inquiries with a cheerful and clear communication style are crucial elements of the job. Additionally, the Host ensures that to-go orders are complete, clean, and ready for guests, takes beverage orders, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and supports servers and bussers in table maintenance. The effective Host must have comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, beverage offerings, promotions, events, and policies, as well as familiarity with the casino and hotel to assist guests appropriately.

Beyond guest interaction, the role includes compliance with internal controls, policies, departmental procedures, and regulations. As a front-line team member, the Host may be asked to work in other venues as assigned, providing flexibility and a broad range of experience within the hospitality operations. The position also involves performing opening and closing duties and any additional assignments as needed to support the smooth functioning of the restaurant and enhance the guest experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain Responsible Alcohol and ServSafe certifications within 90 days
  • Strong guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible and irregular shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and move for long periods
  • Ability to use digital reservation and ordering systems
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as needed
  • Ability to maintain professional and ethical conduct
  • Willingness to work in a non-smoking, moderate to loud environment including casino floor

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely for the duration of scheduled shift
  • Ability to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to operate a personal computer
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Job Duties

  • Seats guests and manages the seating chart
  • Monitors venue activity to determine seating and dining flow
  • Handles high volumes of guest needs in an organized, efficient and professional manner
  • Inputs accurate reservations and guest requests into a digital reservation system
  • Assists guests with online ordering and kiosks when placing to-go orders
  • Greets guests with a friendly expression of acknowledgement and good wishes
  • Answers the phone with cheerful introduction while speaking clearly
  • Ensures to-go food transport is complete, clean and ready for guests
  • Takes and/or refills non-alcoholic beverage orders
  • Responds to guests inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Maintains a clean, well-stocked, and safe working environment
  • Maintains complete knowledge of menu items, beverage selections, specials, promotions, events, and policies
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the casino and hotel to answer guest questions and provide directions
  • Assists servers and bussers by helping to clear, wipe, and reset tables as needed
  • Works at other venues as assigned based on business needs
  • Performs job duties in compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Performs opening and closing duties as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
