Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years related kitchen or restaurant experience
- Ability to successfully complete ServSafe certification within three months
- Basic computer knowledge preferred
- Ability to use basic math skills
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities
- Ability to maintain discretion
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts
- Ability to talk, hear, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, and move for duration of shift
- Ability to use hands for handling objects, tools, controls, and reach with arms
- Ability to operate a personal computer or point of sale system
- Ability to occasionally lift or move objects up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Visual capabilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years related kitchen or restaurant experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to successfully complete ServSafe certification within three months
- Basic computer knowledge and prior experience with a point-of-sale system preferred
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques
- Ability to use basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and counting using whole numbers and fractions
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities
- Ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
- Ability to interact with customers and team members in a professional manner
- Ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Ensure that all kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner according to menu and customer specifications
- Act as a liaison between the front and back of house operations by receiving orders from wait staff, relaying orders to kitchen, and monitoring progress of all tickets
- Control the flow of service, calling orders to stations for firing, coordinating items coming up at the same time
- Set up the expo line, prep and portion items on the expo station, ensure station is stocked with items needed for service
- Ensure proper zoning of the expo line and maintain throughout the entire shift
- Call re-fires to the kitchen when mistakes are made, prioritizing those items and ensuring mistakes are rerun and allowanced accordingly
- Ensure that orders for each table are completed together and on time
