The RS AMT Team Lead A&P position in Gulfstream's Savannah Global Aircraft Center (GAC) is a pivotal role focused on planning and coordinating various technical functions associated with aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components. This full-time role requires significant aviation maintenance experience, with an emphasis on Gulfstream aircraft, reflecting the company’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in the aviation sector. The Team Lead will provide guidance and work directions to technicians engaged in aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards. The role involves overseeing the repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical and functional aircraft components such as airframes, engine parts, landing gear, electrical systems, and control mechanisms. Coordination with inspection teams is essential to guarantee adherence to internal and FAA inspection requirements.
This position demands leadership skills to manage workflows and prioritize maintenance tasks effectively, ensuring that all maintenance activities are documented and completed to quality specifications. The Team Lead is also responsible for ensuring that customer property and aircraft components are properly identified, stored securely, and handled safely. Additionally, strict compliance with safety procedures and company standard operating practices is necessary when operating ground support and special equipment. The role also entails collaborating with other departments to facilitate the overhaul or repair of customer property as required.
Beyond technical supervision, the Team Lead is tasked with applying 6S and Lean Initiatives to maintain clean and organized workspaces, ensuring efficient and safe working conditions. Maintaining an advanced knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies is imperative to uphold quality and safety standards. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 8 years aviation maintenance experience including avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical
- 2 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience required
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems
- Advanced knowledge of technical reference materials such as maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Eight years aviation maintenance experience including avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical
- Two years relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
- Valid Driver’s License
- Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems
- Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials such as maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English language
Job Duties
- Ensure required maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems
- Lead the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems
- Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements
- Ensure completion of work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications
- Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment
- Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely
- Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment
- Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components
- Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed
- Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean
- Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment
- Coordinate movement of aircraft as required
- Maintain advanced knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
