Job Description

Row 34 is an award-winning, high-energy neighborhood oyster bar located in Cambridge, MA. Established as a prominent dining destination, Row 34 has expanded its reach with sister locations across Seaport, Burlington, Kenmore Square, and Portsmouth, NH. The restaurant is renowned for its extensive oyster program, showcasing a variety of fresh and sustainably sourced oysters, and a dynamic menu focused on the freshest seafood offerings. This includes carefully crafted dishes that emphasize seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques, which has earned the establishment a reputation for excellence in both food quality and guest experience. The atmosphere at Row 34 is lively and welcoming, designed to foster a people-first culture that values teamwork, growth, and hospitality.

Row 34 is currently seeking motivated individuals to join their kitchen team in the role of a Cook. This position is ideal for someone passionate about seafood and committed to maintaining high standards of food preparation and kitchen safety. As a Cook at Row 34, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to the restaurant's established recipes and standards, ensuring each dish meets the required presentation and quality. You will play a critical role in maintaining portion control and food preparation standards to ensure product consistency and manage costs effectively. This role requires close attention to food temperatures and storage guidelines to uphold food safety and quality.

In addition to cooking, the Cook is expected to communicate promptly and clearly with kitchen coordinators or chefs about any issues concerning food quality or service delays. Inventory management is another key aspect of the role, where you will monitor ingredient levels and alert management and front-of-house teams when stock is running low. Safety is a priority, so adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines—including cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment—is mandatory. The Cook will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and positive working relationships. With a starting pay of $20 per hour, this position also offers a range of benefits after 90 days, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as additional perks such as daily staff meals and eligibility for the MBTA pass program from day one.
