Job Description
Prism Real Estate Services (PRES) is a premier property management company that prioritizes people, respect, integrity, and service to others as core values. Operating primarily in the Kansas City Metro area and across the Midwest, PRES manages a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties with an emphasis on first-class active management. Their mission is guided by a culture that nurtures relational work communities full of motivating, authentic, accountable, and accessible professionals. This mindset ensures that team members say what they mean, do what they say, and take initiative to continuously innovate and improve upon traditional practices. They strive to create a rewarding and collaborative environment that supports both personal and company growth.
The Roving Maintenance Technician role is a vital position within PRES, tasked with delivering high-quality maintenance services across multiple properties, including those owned by PRES and third-party clients. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, the technician will ensure timely, consistent, and professional upkeep and repairs. This role requires strong communication, adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to perform duties with precision and care. The technician is also expected to step in as a Maintenance Supervisor when necessary, exemplifying leadership and thorough knowledge of maintenance operations.
This full-time position is not remote and involves travel within the Kansas City Metro area to support staffing shortages, special projects, and maintenance emergencies. The position demands adherence to safety and compliance requirements such as Fair Housing, Cyber Security, and Sexual Harassment courses. Physically, the technician will engage in tasks such as bending, climbing ladders, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance, working on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and performing pest control. The role is multifaceted, requiring multitasking, prioritizing work orders, facilitating unit turns and make-ready preparations, and assisting with construction or renovation projects. The maintenance technician must demonstrate strong organizational skills, maintain a neat appearance consistent with the company dress code, and effectively communicate with property managers, residents, and vendors.
Prism Real Estate Services supports its employees through a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, company-funded life insurance, paid time off, and other perks designed to foster a positive work-life balance and career development. The culture at PRES emphasizes continuous learning and staff involvement in community activities, contributing to a meaningful and fulfilling career experience in property management maintenance.
