We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Vending Route Relief Driver to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the seamless operation of our vending and water delivery routes by servicing various accounts in the Philadelphia, MS region. As a Route Relief Driver, you will operate company-owned vehicles, restock vending machines and micro markets, perform minor repairs, collect money, and maintain accurate records. The Vending Route Relief Driver is responsible for upholding the company’s values, known as the BROWN VALUES, and embodying professionalism in all interactions. You will be tasked with filling vending machines, verifying product rotation, collecting stale items, and ensuring that all vending equipment is in good working order through minor maintenance. Additionally, this role involves driving a company truck to deliver products to various customer accounts, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of vehicles and equipment, and securing money collected from sales.

Attention to detail is crucial, as the driver must complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip reports and promptly report any vehicle problems to maintenance personnel. Safety is a top priority, alongside excellent customer service skills to resolve issues efficiently when they arise. The position may also require assisting with training new drivers and supporting installation or service personnel when needed.

Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift up to 30 pounds continuously and 60 pounds intermittently, push and pull carts weighing up to 260 pounds, and the capacity to bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods. The work environment varies, including outdoor and indoor settings such as break rooms and stores, and exposure to diverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain. The role demands stamina to work shifts of up to 11 hours, with multiple vehicle entries and exits during the day.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Lives and models BROWN VALUES in everything we do
  • fills vending machines, collects stale items, verifies rotation of merchandise, collects money, refills bill and coin changers, reports improper machine operations, conducts minor repairs to the vending machine
  • drives a company truck to deliver items such as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items, and sundries to accounts
  • stocks micro markets, collects stales, verifies rotation of merchandise, collects money, reports improper machine operations, conducts minor repairs to the micro market as required
  • resolves customer issues when necessary
  • performs daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip reports
  • performs routine cleaning and sanitation on vending vehicles and equipment
  • reports vehicle problems to proper personnel
  • secures keys and vehicles daily
  • at the end of the day, submit all monies collected to the cash room
  • may be required to train new drivers
  • may be required to assist installation and/or service personnel as needed
