The Route Supervisor role at Brink's involves leading and supervising a team of drivers, messengers, and guards involved in the Cash in Transit (CIT) functions. This key leadership position requires ensuring the security and accountability of all liabilities while managing the daily operations workflow efficiently. The individual in this role assists the branch manager by maintaining a secure, safe, and efficient armored car facility environment. Operating within an armed environment, the Route Supervisor enforces strict rules to protect Brink’s premises, customer properties, and ensures the safety of all personnel present on-site. The position demands a strong commitment to safety and security, excellent leadership and operational management skills, and the ability to cultivate a high-performing, motivated workforce.

The Route Supervisor will oversee daily operations, including route efficiency and scheduling, as well as opening and closing the branch. Ensuring a safe working environment is paramount, with the goal that all employees complete their shifts and return home safely. The supervisor provides ongoing coaching and skill development opportunities for team members to enhance their performance and drive continuous improvement through leveraging systems, equipment, and process redesign. Delivering quality customer service and maintaining strict adherence to security controls are critical responsibilities of this role. Additionally, the Route Supervisor ensures compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. This role also involves assisting management in meeting branch goals and participating in cross-training and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years operations experience in transportation and/or logistics
  • Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Valid firearms permit or ability to pass firearms licensing requirements
  • Valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years operations experience in transportation and/or logistics
  • Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Valid firearms permit or ability to pass firearms licensing requirements
  • Valid guard card or ability to obtain required licenses
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Previous experience as an armored car driver
  • Knowledge of route analysis and logistics
  • Knowledge of lean/process improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of budgeting and planning experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong consultative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Job Duties

  • Provide first line supervision to CIT employees
  • Oversee daily operations including route efficiency, route scheduling, opening and closing of branch
  • Maintain safe and secure environment ensuring all CIT employees work and return home safely
  • Provide coaching and skill development to employees on a consistent basis
  • Leverage systems, equipment and process redesign to drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain and provide quality customer service
  • Secure inventories by executing controls and ensuring strict compliance with security procedures
  • Ensure employees compliance with federal, state and local regulations
  • Assist Management to meet branch goals
  • Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned
