As a Route Service Representative (RSR) at UniFirst, you will play a crucial role as the direct face of the company to its customers, managing assigned routes where you will deliver and pick up garments and related products. This position is ideal for motivated individuals who are passionate about customer service, enjoy working independently, and are eager to build lasting relationships. The RSR is responsible for managing daily route logistics, ensuring timely and efficient service through loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining strong customer connections by addressing service needs and offering new products to enhance customer satisfaction. This role includes the physical aspects of the job, such as lifting up to 50 lbs and spending significant time on your feet, highlighting the active nature of the position.

In addition to operational responsibilities, the RSR contributes to business growth by identifying upselling opportunities along their route, ultimately increasing earning potential through commissions. The role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with no night or weekend work, providing stability and a strong work-life balance. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must meet all DOT requirements including physical exam
  • High school diploma GED or military service required
  • Prior experience in customer service route sales or delivery is a plus
  • Ability to independently manage assigned routes and customer interactions
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using new technology
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma GED or military service
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Meet Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam requirements
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in customer service route sales or delivery roles preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new operational tools
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Manage an assigned route serving as the primary contact for daily deliveries and pickups
  • Assist with loading and unloading route trucks ensuring operational accuracy
  • Deliver on-time and accurate service to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Build and maintain customer relationships addressing service needs and introducing new products
  • Identify sales opportunities and upsell products to grow route revenue
  • Operate a company truck prioritizing safety and professionalism
  • Maintain physical stamina working indoors and outdoors adhering to safety standards
  • Troubleshoot service issues manage inventory and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintain a predictable Monday through Friday daytime schedule servicing consistent routes and customers
