Job Description

UniFirst is a global leader in the garment services industry, with a strong presence across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Established as a trusted provider, UniFirst serves over 300,000 business locations and employs more than 16,000 team partners. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional service, fostered by a supportive and inclusive work culture. Recognized for excellence, UniFirst has been honored on prestigious lists such as Selling Power magazine's "Best Companies to Sell For" and Forbes' "Platinum 400 - Best Big Companies." As an equal opportunity employer, UniFirst embraces diversity and inclusivity, ensuring every team member is valued and supported throughout their career journey. The company's commitment to safety, professionalism, and community has positioned it as a top choice for those seeking a fulfilling career in service and delivery.

The Route Service Representative (RSR) role at UniFirst is a dynamic, customer-focused position that combines independence, relationship-building, and operational expertise. As an RSR, you become the visible face of UniFirst, managing your assigned route by delivering and picking up garments and product rentals for business customers. This position requires someone who thrives on the road, possesses excellent customer service skills, and is motivated to grow their route and earning potential. Your daily tasks will include loading and unloading the company walk-in truck, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and maintaining strong customer satisfaction.

UniFirst’s RSR role is suited for individuals who enjoy an active, physically engaging job and can work reliably within the structured Monday through Friday daytime schedule. The position offers a predictable routine servicing the same customers week after week, allowing you to build meaningful, trusted relationships. Importantly, this job is commission-based from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings through upselling and expanding customer accounts. You will be expected to identify customer needs, suggesting new or additional garments and services that align with their business requirements.

Beyond the basics of route management and delivery, UniFirst emphasizes core competencies like dependability, problem-solving, safety awareness, and professional communication. You will need to represent the company with integrity, responding promptly to customer inquiries and troubleshooting service issues efficiently. Tech-savviness is also an asset, as you will use modern technology tools to streamline operations and enhance the customer experience.

This role is ideal for individuals who are physically capable of handling a demanding workload, including lifting up to 50 pounds and spending extended periods on their feet. A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and compliance with Department of Transportation requirements, including a physical exam, are mandatory. Candidates with previous experience in customer service, delivery, or route sales will find this role suits their skills and ambitions well.

At UniFirst, you will benefit from comprehensive training programs, including the SCP training designed specifically for success in the RSR role. The company supports your professional growth with continuous learning and development opportunities, along with a stable work-life balance due to the predictable weekdays-only schedule. UniFirst values its employees highly and ensures they enjoy a workplace culture that is inclusive, welcoming, and community-oriented.

Compensation is competitive, combining base wages with commission potential. Benefits include 401(k) with matching, profit sharing, comprehensive health and life insurance plans, paid time off, employee discounts, and tuition reimbursement. If you seek a career that offers both challenge and reward, with the ability to directly impact customer satisfaction and business growth, the Route Service Representative position at UniFirst provides an excellent pathway to success and advancement within a respected global company.
