Job Description
Cintas Corporation is a leading provider of specialized products and services designed to help businesses maintain clean, safe, and well-presented environments for their employees and customers. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cintas supports more than one million customers across various industries, supplying essential items such as uniforms, mats, mops, towels, restroom supplies, workplace water services, and safety products. As a publicly traded Fortune 500 company (Nasdaq: CTAS) and a component of both the Standard & Poor's 500 Index and Nasdaq-100 Index, Cintas is recognized for its commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional customer service.
The company prides itself on its culture of inclusion and equal opportunity, ensuring all applicants are evaluated without regard to race, gender, age, disability, or any other legally protected status. Cintas offers comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, and opportunities for career growth and advancement.
The Route Service Representative position within Cintas' Rental Division is a dynamic and rewarding role designed for individuals who enjoy engaging with customers and managing accounts. Partners in this role will be responsible for delivering and picking up uniforms, shop towels, chemical cleaning products, and other facility service items along a designated route. This fast-paced, physically demanding position combines indoor and outdoor work and requires excellent customer service, sales skills, and the ability to maintain professional and safe operational standards.
New Route Service Representatives participate in a thorough 10-week training program to develop their skills and knowledge. Once assigned a route, partners enjoy a solid base salary with additional commission potential, work a majority 4-day workweek, rarely work nights or weekends, and have access to performance bonuses and incentives on a monthly and quarterly basis.
This role is central to the company's operations as representatives serve as the face of Cintas to their customers. Responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring quality standards are upheld, resolving customer concerns proactively, and growing the customer base through upselling and cross-selling various products and services. Representatives also negotiate service agreement renewals, manage inventory controls, and comply with all driving and vehicle regulations.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet Department of Transportation requirements for driving vehicles over 10,000 lbs, which includes holding an active driver’s license, being at least 21 years old, obtaining DOT medical certification, and providing prior employment documentation before starting. Additionally, candidates should be physically capable of performing job duties, possess at least a high school diploma, GED, or military service background, and demonstrate a strong customer service orientation. Self-motivation, teamwork, ambition, and organizational skills are essential traits to thrive in this role.
Cintas supports its partners with comprehensive and competitive medical, dental, and vision plans, many offered at below-average premiums or no cost. The company also provides 401(k) retirement savings plans with company match and profit-sharing features, disability and life insurance fully paid by the company, paid time off and holidays, and continuous opportunities for skills development, training, and career advancement. Compensation ranges from approximately $45,000 to $90,000 annually, reflecting base pay plus commissions and guided by skills, experience, and performance.
Joining Cintas as a Route Service Representative offers a stable and growth-oriented career path within a respected Fortune 500 company that values its employee-partners and helps foster a culture of success and customer satisfaction.
