The role of a Service Technician at USS is integral to the company’s operations. Acting as the frontline representatives, Service Technicians are responsible for driving a company service truck to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms and holding tanks at various job or event sites. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining the quality and functionality of portable sanitation products which directly impact customers' satisfaction and the company’s reputation. Service Technicians adhere strictly to safety standards as required by both USS and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, ensuring secure and accident-free work environments.

Physically, this role demands a high degree of endurance and strength as it involves sit-driving, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to between 50 and 150 pounds, crouching, squatting, and other physical activities necessary for servicing facilities. Technicians must also possess excellent time management and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and adjust routes as needed to meet their needs efficiently. By offering feedback regarding routing and customer requirements to supervisors and managers, Service Technicians contribute to strategic planning, helping USS anticipate and fulfill current and future customer needs.

Compensation for this full-time role ranges from $19.49 to $26.32 per hour, with pay determined based on location, skills, experience, education, and certifications. Job Requirements

  • Sit while driving and stand while servicing products
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls
  • Repeat the same movements
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance

  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
  • Walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion
  • Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
  • Lift up to 40lbs from your waist to your shoulders
  • Lift 30lbs from the floor to your head
  • Crouch and squat
  • Push 100lbs and pull 100lbs horizontally

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of commercial driving experience
  • Valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
  • Excellent time management, customer service and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills

Job Duties

  • Perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
  • Perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
  • Perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • In addition, perform lifting/pushing between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
  • Conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
  • Perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
  • Ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes needs to be adjusted or changed
  • Provide routing feedback to Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible
  • Ability to strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet needs, so the customer's current and future needs are satisfied
