Job Description

Safety-Kleen in Eugene, OR is actively seeking a dedicated Sales and Service Route Driver to join their dynamic team. This employment opportunity is a full-time position with competitive starting pay ranging from $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, dependent on experience, and offers an uncapped commission structure to reward performance. To encourage qualified individuals, Safety-Kleen is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who already possess a Class A or B CDL. Additionally, the company supports the professional growth of its employees by providing company-paid training, tuition reimbursement, and will even finance the process for candidates to obtain their Class B Commercial Driver's License if they do not already have one.

The role of Sales and Service Route Driver involves using a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, collecting containerized hazardous waste, and selling a wide range of products and services along a defined route. Candidates should be prepared for 10-12 hour workdays, with responsibilities that include general labor such as moving containers that range from 5-gallon pails to 55-gallon drums utilizing hand carts, drum dollies, and pallet jacks. Automatic CDL restrictions are acceptable for this role.

Employees will typically visit 10-12 customer sites per day, servicing automotive repair shops, fleets, and manufacturing businesses. Tasks include switching out drums of solution, servicing parts washer machines, cleaning sediment from sinks, and conducting upselling efforts to generate new leads in the field. The driver must ensure compliance with all safety standards and environmental policies, operating their vehicles in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation laws and any relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Class A or B CDL preferred but not required
  • General labor experience involving moving various sizes of containers such as 5-gallon pails to 55-gallon drums using hand carts, drum dollies, and pallet jacks
  • Ability to work 10-12 hour days
  • Ability to perform physical functions related to the job
  • Ability to pass background check, drug test, and physical examination
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must have strong customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • May visit 10-12 customer sites per day
  • Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions
  • Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks
  • Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field
  • Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses
  • Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
