Currently, Bimbo Bakeries USA is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Route Sales Specialist. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join the largest baking company in the world, contributing directly to the availability and presentation of high-quality products in retail locations. The Route Sales Specialist role is a full-time position with an hourly pay starting at $24.84 plus commission, averaging an annual salary between $51,600 and $55,000. The work schedule includes 10-hour shifts during early mornings, four days per week on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, allowing for work-life balance.

As a Route Sales Specialist, the successful candidate will take on key responsibilities that encompass merchandising, stocking, and product rotation in stores to ensure the freshest product presentation. You will work closely with retail partners to drive sales by securing new display space, setting up additional displays, and leveraging sales data to optimize strategies at store level. Building customer relationships, pursuing new accounts, and introducing new products to maximize shelf space and sales growth will be central to your role. The position also involves conducting daily route settlements, managing inventory, handling invoices and cash accurately, and ensuring all required documentation and deposits are submitted timely. Safe driving is critical as you will be operating a company route truck and maintaining daily Department of Transportation (DOT) logs.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License (if job location is in IN, MI, TN)
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) is preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
  • Competent in reading, speaking, and understanding English for communication and DOT requirements
  • Ability to obtain required licenses including DOT medical card and Chauffeur License if applicable

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
