The role of Route Sales Specialist is crucial to the company’s mission of delivering quality bakery products to customers. This role involves direct interaction with customers through the delivery of fresh products, setting up new accounts, and merchandising to maximize product visibility and sales. The Route Sales Specialist follows established procedures and good business practices that help routes reach their fullest sales potential. They work closely with customers to support all sales initiatives and foster strong customer development through ordering, merchandising, and promotional display efforts. The position offers an hourly base pay of $24.76, which equates to an annual average between $51,500 and $55,000. It operates on a third shift schedule, typically from evening to early morning, providing an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain and retain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English to converse with the public, interpret highway traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide vacation relief for Route Sales Professionals and Loaders
  • Assisting the Sales Leadership Team in day-to-day operations and/or issues as needed
  • Assists with the training of new Route Sales Professionals
  • Delivers fresh product to existing customers on open routes until new RSPs are trained
  • Assists with rack resets
  • Partners with Route Sales Professionals to create alignment in account chains
  • Route operation activity including ordering and distribution, merchandising, promotional activity, holiday planning and meeting customer expectations
  • Communicate with customers to assist them in understanding promotional activity and delivery expectations
  • Ensure product distribution is accomplished according to contract terms and requirements
  • Assists customer relations including selling new products and space/position gains
  • Provides a high level of customer service and resolves customer issues as they arise
  • Work location will vary depending on staffing needs
