As a Route Sales Representative at Bimbo Bakeries USA, you will be a key driver of the company's success by ensuring that products are properly merchandised, stocked, and rotated to maintain the highest quality and freshness on store shelves. This role demands a proactive approach to sales, including securing new display spaces, setting up incremental displays, and leveraging sales data to shape store-level sales strategies. The Route Sales Representative builds and maintains strong customer relationships by following up on new account opportunities and ensuring the successful execution of promotional campaigns.

The position also entails introducing new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and potential new customers. Operational responsibilities include conducting daily route settlement procedures to reconcile products, invoices, and cash, maintaining accurate inventory counts, and safely operating the company route truck while completing all required Department of Transportation (DOT) daily logs. Additionally, timely submission of documentation, paperwork, and deposits is critical to ensuring smooth operations.

This role typically starts early in the day with a 4:00 AM shift and includes a regular schedule with Wednesday and Sunday off. The compensation package reflects a weekly base pay of $300 plus commission, with an annual average income ranging from $70,000 to $90,000. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain chauffeur license if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand highway signs
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully obtain chauffeur license if in specified states (IN, MI, TN)

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
