The role of Route Sales Representative at Bimbo Bakeries USA offers an exciting opportunity to join this talented team. This position is classified as full-time first shift, featuring a start time of 4:00 AM and scheduled days off on Wednesday and Sunday. The compensation package includes a base weekly pay of $300 plus commission, with an annual average earning potential ranging between $70,000 and $90,000. Additionally, comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, and a retirement plan are provided.

As a Route Sales Representative, you will be instrumental in maintaining the fresh appearance and accessibility of the company’s products on retail shelves. This includes merchandising, stocking, and rotating products to ensure optimal quality and freshness for customers. Driving sales growth is a central responsibility where you will work to secure new display spaces, establish incremental displays, and utilize sales data to develop effective store-specific strategies. Building and nurturing strong customer relationships is key, as you will follow up on new opportunities, introduce innovative products and services, and ensure promotion execution to maximize sales.

Daily operational duties involve conducting thorough route settlement procedures, which include accounting for products, managing invoices and cash, maintaining proper inventory levels, and submitting necessary documentation and deposits promptly. Safe transportation of products is a priority; as such, the role requires the operation of the company route truck and completing Department of Transportation (DOT) daily logs in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in Indiana Michigan Tennessee
  • Ability to climb push pull bend stoop and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public understand highway traffic signs respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records

Job Duties

  • Merchandise stock and ensure proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space setting up incremental displays and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products invoices and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation paperwork and deposits on time
