The Route Sales Representative role is a critical position within Bimbo Bakeries USA. This full-time role offers a weekly base pay of $326 plus commission, with an annual average earning between $50,000 and $55,000. The typical shift is from 4:30 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday through Sunday, providing a desirable schedule with Mondays and Tuesdays off. The primary responsibility of the Route Sales Representative is to maximize product sales and visibility by managing route logistics, merchandising, and customer relationships. This includes ensuring proper stocking and rotation of products on store shelves, setting up promotional displays, and driving sales growth by securing new display space. Representatives also introduce new products, follow up on new account opportunities, and guarantee successful execution of promotions.

Additionally, this position requires safe operation of a company truck, adherence to Department of Transportation regulations, and accurate completion of route settlement procedures including cash handling and inventory management. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) preferred
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate a delivery truck safely
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
  • Knowledge of sales and merchandising techniques

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
