Job Description
FritoLay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of snack foods, operating with a commitment to delivering quality products and exceptional service to customers across the United States. Known for iconic brands such as Lay's, Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos, and Fritos, FritoLay has established itself as a dominant player in the snack foods industry. With a vast network of route sales representatives, FritoLay ensures its products are readily available in various retail outlets ranging from gas stations and dollar stores to large grocery chains. The company's mission revolves around growing its market presence, fostering community relations, and providing rewarding career opportunities for its employees.
The role of a Route Sales Representative at FritoLay is instrumental in driving the company's success at the ground level. This position involves delivering, selling, and merchandising the complete line of FritoLay products to local stores. As a Route Sales Representative, you will be responsible for independently managing your assigned route by driving a FritoLay truck to various retail locations, unloading orders, and ensuring that products are well-stocked and attractively displayed. Beyond the physical delivery duties, this role requires building strong relationships with store managers to increase sales performance, manage orders, and maintain accurate records throughout the day.
The position offers a target earning potential of $62,100 per year and is designed as a full-time role. New hires will begin with intensive training lasting four to six weeks, covering driving, selling techniques, and product knowledge to ensure success in the field. The learning process includes running routes alongside experienced team members, experiencing diverse store environments, and establishing connections with customers. Over time, representatives will attain a consistent route schedule, allowing for set days off.
This job operates in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment where employees are on their feet throughout their shifts and may work weekends and holidays due to the company's 24-hour operational nature. FritoLay emphasizes career growth opportunities by investing in employee development. Employees in this role can advance within FritoLay or explore career paths within PepsiCo, the parent company, broadening their professional prospects.
Working at FritoLay means becoming part of a team that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. FritoLay also supports applicants with criminal histories under applicable laws, reflecting their commitment to fair hiring practices.
Overall, becoming a Route Sales Representative at FritoLay offers a dynamic career choice for individuals motivated by sales, customer service, and hands-on physical work, with the added benefit of company support for personal and professional growth.
