Job Description
FritoLay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of snack foods, known for its iconic brands such as Lay's, Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos, and Fritos. As a major player in the food and beverage industry, FritoLay operates with a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. The company’s extensive network serves a diverse range of retail outlets, including gas stations, dollar stores, and large grocery chains across the country. FritoLay prides itself on fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment that encourages growth and development for all employees.
The Route Sales Representative role at FritoLay is an integral part of the company's success. This position involves delivering, selling, and merchandising the full line of FritoLay products directly to local stores, ensuring products are well-stocked and attractively displayed to drive sales. Route Sales Representatives operate FritoLay trucks, working independently to unload merchandise, build strong partnerships with store managers, and maintain accurate records throughout their shifts. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, physical environment, and requires driving, selling, and customer service skills.
New team members start with comprehensive training lasting four to six weeks, where they learn the essentials of the position, including driving routes, building customer relationships, and managing product displays. After training, representatives run their own routes with established schedules and regular days off, though flexibility is required as shifts often include weekends and holidays. Success in this role can lead to career advancement opportunities within FritoLay or the broader PepsiCo organization, making it an excellent starting point for those interested in a long-term career in sales and distribution.
FritoLay values diversity and inclusion, ensuring all qualified applicants receive consideration regardless of age, race, gender, or other protected statuses. The company complies with all relevant employment laws and promotes equal opportunity for every candidate. Employees are also eligible for an attractive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions, financial support for education, and various company discounts and perks.
Overall, the Route Sales Representative position at FritoLay is ideal for motivated individuals who enjoy working independently, have strong customer service skills, and are physically capable of handling the demands of the job. This role offers a rewarding career path with a reputable company recognized for its iconic brands, commitment to employee development, and dedication to making snack foods accessible and enjoyable for customers everywhere.
