Job Description
FritoLay is a leading snack food company known for its wide range of popular and beloved brands such as Lay's, Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos, Fritos, and many more. As a subsidiary of PepsiCo, FritoLay operates with a commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, serving millions of customers by delivering high-quality snack products to stores across the United States. The company prides itself on fostering a dynamic work environment that supports career growth and actively invests in the development of its employees, helping them to build rewarding careers within the company and the larger PepsiCo family.
The role of a Route Sales Representative at FritoLay is vital to the company’s ongoing success in the market. This full-time position involves delivering, selling, and merchandising FritoLay's complete product line to local retail outlets, including gas stations, dollar stores, and large grocery stores. Route Sales Representatives drive company trucks to various store locations and independently manage their delivery schedules. They are responsible for unloading products, setting up displays, and maintaining strong relationships with store managers to boost sales and ensure proper product stock and presentation throughout their routes. The position requires individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, physical environment and those who thrive on face-to-face customer interaction and relationship building.
During their first several weeks, new hires receive comprehensive training designed to prepare them for the demands of the job, including driving, selling techniques, and merchandising best practices. This training phase ensures that Route Sales Representatives are equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel on their route and contribute meaningfully to the team. The role offers the advantage of a predictable schedule with set days off after the initial training and adjustment period, though candidates should expect to work weekends and holidays as the job requires.
A Route Sales Representative at FritoLay is more than just a delivery person; they are brand ambassadors who play a significant role in growing sales and promoting FritoLay's products within their territories. They are motivated individuals who drive sales growth by building long-lasting customer relationships, creating eye-catching product displays, and successfully executing national promotional initiatives tailored to their routes. This challenging but rewarding job offers the opportunity to work independently with the support of a dedicated team, while also opening doors to career advancement within FritoLay and PepsiCo.
In addition to the professional growth and an engaging work environment, FritoLay offers a competitive benefits package to its full-time employees. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution, financial support for further education, and company discounts and perks. These benefits underscore FritoLay’s commitment to the well-being and development of its employees as part of the larger PepsiCo family.
For those interested in applying, the process is straightforward and can be completed in about 20-25 minutes on any device. FritoLay is dedicated to creating an inclusive hiring process, offering equal opportunity employment, and considering qualified applicants regardless of age, race, gender, veteran status, disability, or other protected characteristics. FritoLay complies with all relevant laws and ordinances regarding fair hiring practices, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the company's Equal Employment Opportunity policies and understand their rights under the law.
