The Route Sales Professional Extra role is an exciting opportunity to join Bimbo Bakeries USA and contribute to the company’s success by supporting new business with Hy-Vee. This position offers a weekly base pay of $315 plus commission, translating to an average annual compensation between $55,000 and $65,000. The role involves Saturdays and Sundays off with work hours from 4am to 1pm, allowing balance between work and personal time. As a Route Sales Professional Extra, a key responsibility is to manage product merchandising, maintain inventory quality, and drive sales growth by expanding product placement in retail environments. This position requires excellent relationship-building skills to support existing accounts and secure new business opportunities while ensuring that promotions and product displays are properly executed. Route sales professionals utilize sales data to influence in-store strategies, ensuring products are rotated for freshness and displayed to maximize consumer appeal.

In this role, you are also responsible for managing route settlements, accounting for all products and cash transactions, and complying with Department of Transportation regulations by maintaining daily logs. Driving the company route truck safely and ensuring documentation, paperwork, and deposits are submitted on time are pivotal parts of this position. To be successful in this role, candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and hold or be able to obtain a DOT medical card. For candidates in the states of Indiana, Michigan, or Tennessee, a Chauffeur License is required. Physical demands include the ability to climb, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform frequent reaching and manual dexterity tasks. Experience in direct sales distribution is preferred, along with sufficient proficiency in English to communicate, follow traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete logs accurately.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in Indiana, Michigan, or Tennessee
  • Ability to climb, push, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution is preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
