The Route Sales Professional Extra role is integral to Bimbo Bakeries’ mission of bringing fresh products directly to consumers while expanding brand presence. The position involves merchandising, stocking, and ensuring proper product rotation on store shelves and displays to guarantee quality and freshness. Route Sales Professionals drive sales through strategic initiatives such as securing additional display space, planning incremental displays, and leveraging sales data to optimize store-level execution. This role demands excellent customer relationship management skills aimed at supporting new account opportunities and executing promotions effectively.
Responsibilities also include introducing new products to maximize sales and shelf presence within existing accounts while pursuing new customers actively. Route Sales Professionals are tasked with conducting accurate daily route settlements, maintaining proper inventory counts, preparing necessary documentation, and submitting timely paperwork and deposits. Safe operation of the company route truck and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including maintaining daily logs, are vital components of the role.
Bimbo Bakeries USA seeks candidates who meet stringent physical demands, such as the ability to climb, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive manual tasks while ensuring safety and adherence to regulatory requirements. Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. The ability to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card is essential, and candidates in certain states must obtain a Chauffeur License. Prior experience in Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) ranging from one to three years is preferred, alongside effective communication skills in English to navigate public interactions and comply with traffic laws. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Department of Transportation medical card
- Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN MI or TN
- Ability to climb push pull bend stoop and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution is preferred
- Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public understand highway traffic signs and signals respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in direct sales distribution preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record

Job Duties
