As a Route Sales Professional, you will be responsible for merchandising, stocking, and maintaining product freshness and quality by ensuring proper rotation on store shelves and displays. Your expertise in sales will be crucial as you work to grow market presence by securing additional display spaces, negotiating incremental displays, and deploying sales data analytics to inform store-level strategies. Building strong customer relations by managing new accounts, executing promotional campaigns, and introducing innovative products will be central to your daily responsibilities. Furthermore, you will perform essential route management duties including daily settlement procedures, inventory management, and handling paperwork accurately and promptly.
Operating safely and efficiently while driving the company route truck is a key part of the role, requiring adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations including maintaining daily logs. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
- Ability to climb push pull bend stoop and kneel for extended periods and perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- Able to obtain Chauffeur License if based in IN MI TN
- Consistent with DOT regulations must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public understand traffic signs respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English
- Proficient in customer service and relationship management
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Job Duties
- Merchandise stock and ensure proper rotation of products on shelves and displays to guarantee freshness
- Drive sales by securing new display space setting up incremental displays and using sales data to inform strategies
- Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships
- Ensure execution of promotional campaigns
- Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space
- Conduct daily route settlement procedures accounting for products invoices and cash while maintaining inventory
- Safely drive company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
- Submit required documentation paperwork and deposits on time
