The company offers competitive pay with additional commission opportunities, complemented by comprehensive benefits such as pension plans, medical and dental coverage, paid holidays, and time off, all crafted to support the wellbeing and growth of every team member.
The role of Route Sales Professional at Bimbo Bakeries USA offers an exciting opportunity to join this distinguished company as part of the national family of 20,000 employees. This position involves dynamic responsibilities centered around direct store delivery (DSD), where associates play a crucial role in maintaining product quality and maximizing sales through effective merchandising and relationship-building. A typical workweek for this role includes a $240 weekly base pay plus commission, with a schedule that varies by shift but includes weekends off — making it an attractive opportunity for work-life balance.
As a Route Sales Professional, you will be on the front lines of sales and distribution, responsible for merchandising, stocking, and ensuring proper product rotation on store shelves to guarantee freshness and quality. You will drive sales by securing new display spaces, setting up incremental displays, and leveraging sales data to shape effective store-level strategies. Your role will involve nurturing strong customer relationships, ensuring promotions are executed flawlessly, and actively introducing new products and services to expand market share within both existing and new accounts.
Daily responsibilities also include conducting route settlement procedures, accurately accounting for all products, invoices, and cash, and maintaining proper inventory levels. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to safely operate the company route truck and complete Department of Transportation (DOT) daily logs. Timely submission of all required documentation and deposits is essential to the smooth operation of route activities.
This role requires associates who are at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and can obtain and maintain a DOT medical card. In certain locations such as Indiana, Michigan, and Tennessee, obtaining a Chauffeur License is also necessary. Physical capability is essential, including the ability to climb, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform frequent reaching and use of fingers. Experience ranging from 1 to 3 years in direct sales distribution (DSD) is preferred, along with sufficient proficiency in English to communicate effectively with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports and records.
Bimbo Bakeries USA is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to providing employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other classification protected by law. The company promotes a workplace where every employee feels they belong and are empowered to contribute to their fullest potential. Accommodations are available to qualified individuals with disabilities to ensure successful performance of job duties.
Joining Bimbo Bakeries USA as a Route Sales Professional means becoming part of a company with a rich heritage, a commitment to quality and innovation, and a collaborative culture that values each associate. If you are motivated, customer-focused, and ready to take on the challenges and rewards of this critical sales delivery role, this position offers substantial earning potential, career growth, and the satisfaction of representing some of the most trusted brands in the baking industry.
