The position of Route Sales Professional is a temporary role expected to last approximately six months, with the possibility of extension based on company needs and individual performance. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the Bimbo Bakeries family, which is renowned for its comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation. The role offers a weekly pay of approximately $750 and operates on a first shift starting at 4 a.m., with Wednesdays and Sundays off, providing a work-life balance attractive to many candidates. As a Route Sales Professional, you will play a key role in the direct sales distribution (DSD) process by merchandising and stocking products to ensure optimal freshness and visibility on store shelves and displays. You will be expected to drive sales by securing new display spaces and setting up incremental displays, leveraging sales data to implement effective store-level strategies. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships will be integral, as will following up on new account opportunities and ensuring promotional activities are fully executed. Moreover, you will introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space both within existing accounts and when engaging potential new customers.

The role also demands responsible management of daily route settlement procedures, including reconciling products, invoices, and cash while maintaining accurate inventory counts. Safely driving company route trucks and completing daily Department of Transportation (DOT) logs is a fundamental aspect of this role along with timely submission of all required documentation, paperwork, and deposits. This multifaceted role requires a reliable, detail-oriented individual able to work independently and engage with customers proactively to contribute effectively to the company’s sales objectives. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in Indiana Michigan or Tennessee
  • Ability to climb push pull bend stoop and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) is preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public to understand highway traffic signs and signals in English to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public understand highway traffic signs and signals respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in Indiana Michigan or Tennessee
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing pushing pulling bending stooping and kneeling for extended periods
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Merchandise stock and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space setting up incremental displays and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products invoices and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation paperwork and deposits on time
