Bimbo Bakeries USA is a leading bakery company in the United States, known for producing some of the most popular bread and baked goods brands like Arnold, Brownberry, Oroweat bread, Thomas' English muffins and bagels, as well as Sara Lee, Entenmann’s, and Marinela cakes and donuts. With a workforce of over 20,000 associates working across bakeries, sales centers, offices, and sales routes, Bimbo Bakeries USA is dedicated to delivering fresh, high-quality bakery products to consumers nationwide. The company prides itself on providing a safe and inclusive work environment that values diversity and fosters personal and professional growth. Associates are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work and benefit from a supportive culture that promotes continuous development.
Bimbo Bakeries USA is currently seeking a Route Sales Professional to join their team. This role is essential in ensuring the successful delivery, merchandising, and sales of bakery products at retail locations. The position offers a competitive compensation package with a weekly base pay of $215 plus commission, which averages between $52,000 and $70,000 annually. Route Sales Professionals enjoy the stability of a first shift opening starting at 5 am, with Wednesdays and Sundays off, enabling a balanced work schedule. The company provides a full range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans, underscoring its commitment to the well-being and financial security of its employees.
As a Route Sales Professional, the incumbent will be responsible for merchandising and stocking products on store shelves and displays to ensure optimal product rotation, quality, and freshness. The role involves actively driving sales by securing new display space, setting up additional displays, and using sales data to develop targeted store-level strategies. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships while following up on new account opportunities is a key aspect of the position, as is executing promotional activities and introducing new products to maximize sales and shelf presence. The Route Sales Professional must handle daily route settlements accurately, including managing inventory counts, product invoices, and cash. Additionally, safe operation of the company route truck with adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including maintaining daily logs, is essential. Timely submission of required documentation, paperwork, and deposits is also a critical responsibility to support the operational efficiency of the sales route.
This position requires an individual who is at least 21 years old, holds a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and is capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOT medical card. For locations in Indiana, Michigan, and Tennessee, obtaining a Chauffeur License is necessary. Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling for extended periods, frequent reaching, and finger dexterity is required to meet the demands of the role effectively. Preference is given to candidates with one to three years of experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) and the capability to communicate sufficiently in English to comply with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations. Equal opportunity employment is vigorously upheld, ensuring a diverse and welcoming workplace for all qualified individuals, including disabled veterans, with accommodations available as needed.
Joining Bimbo Bakeries USA means becoming part of a multinational company renowned for baking excellence and community engagement. The company continuously invests in its associates through training and development programs while fostering a workplace culture grounded in respect and shared values. Route Sales Professionals are vital frontline team members who enjoy an engaging, dynamic work environment that combines customer interaction, route management, and sales growth opportunities. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who thrive in a structured yet flexible setting and are eager to contribute to the success of a respected brand in the bakery industry.
