The role of Route Sales Professional at Bimbo Bakeries USA provides a unique opportunity to be a key player in the direct sales distribution of products to retailers and customers. This position involves maintaining product freshness and stock on store shelves, driving sales through merchandising efforts, and building strong customer relationships. Route Sales Professionals capitalize on sales data to enhance store-level strategies and introduce new products to maximize sales opportunities both within current accounts and potential new customers. The role demands hands-on involvement in daily route settlements, accurate inventory management, and adherence to strict safety and regulatory requirements, including driving company trucks and maintaining Department of Transportation logs. The position offers a competitive weekly base pay of $325 plus commission with an annual average earning potential between $42,000 and $60,000 and requires flexible shift schedules. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in Indiana, Michigan, or Tennessee
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, ability to read and speak English well enough to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and complete entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • One to three years of related experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) is preferred
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to converse with the general public, comprehend highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports and records
  • Demonstrated strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Experience securing and setting up retail product displays
  • Proven ability to manage route settlements and inventory controls
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean and safe driving record

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
