The Route Sales Professional role at Bimbo Bakeries USA offers a dynamic and rewarding career path within the largest baking company in the world. This position provides a unique opportunity to engage directly with retail customers, ensuring their shelves are stocked with fresh bakery products while driving sales performance. The job includes merchandising, stocking, and rotating products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness for customers. Additionally, the role involves securing new display space, setting up promotional displays, and utilizing sales data to inform store-level strategies. The Route Sales Professional also works on building strong customer relationships, following up on new account opportunities, and introducing new products to maximize sales and shelf presence.
Alongside the operational responsibilities, this role requires daily route settlement procedures to accurately account for products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory levels. Candidates must safely operate the company route truck and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, completing daily logs and submitting necessary documentation and deposits on time.
Working hours for this role are primarily from 3:00am to 1:00pm, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off, providing an advantageous work-life balance. Compensation includes a competitive weekly base pay of $278 plus commission, translating to an annual average between $70,000 and $80,000. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
- Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License (If job location is in IN, MI, TN)
- Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred
- Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Duties
- Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
- Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
- Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
- Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
- Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
- Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
- Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
