The role of a Route Sales Professional at Bimbo Bakeries USA presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding organization. This position offers a competitive weekly base pay of $325 plus commission, with an annual average earning potential of $52,000 to $63,000. The work schedule includes an early shift start time of 3:00 am and provides employees with Wednesdays and Sundays off, catering to a balanced work-life arrangement. As a Route Sales Professional, the incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring product availability, merchandising, and customer service excellence. This role requires driving sales by effectively managing product displays, securing new shelf space, and implementing sales strategies based on data analysis. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships is essential, as is following up on new account opportunities and the execution of promotional programs. The professional will be responsible for introducing new products and services to maximize sales while maintaining accurate inventory counts and completing necessary route settlements. Safe operation of the company route truck, including compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) daily log regulations, is a key component of this role. This position demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to customer service and sales growth.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffer License if job location is in Indiana, Michigan, or Tennessee
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports
  • Ability to acquire and maintain DOT medical card
  • Successful completion of Chauffer License if job location is in Indiana, Michigan, or Tennessee

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
