The Route Sales Professional position at Bimbo Bakeries USA is a pivotal role focused on driving sales, ensuring product availability, and maintaining strong relationships with retail customers. As a Route Sales Professional, the associate will be responsible for merchandising, stocking, and rotating bakery products on store shelves and displays to ensure freshness and the highest product quality. The role requires driving sales growth by securing new display spaces, setting up additional displays, and using sales data to craft and implement store-specific strategies. A significant aspect of the job is to follow up on new account leads, nurture customer partnerships, and execute promotions effectively. The associate will introduce new products and services to increase sales opportunities and expand shelf space within existing accounts and new venues. Daily operational duties include conducting route settlement procedures to reconcile products, invoices, and cash, managing inventory counts, and ensuring compliance with documentation and deposit submission deadlines. The position also requires safe operation of the company route truck and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including completion of daily logs. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain chauffeur license if job location is in IN MI TN
  • Ability to climb push pull bend stoop and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution is preferred
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Merchandise stock and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space setting up incremental displays and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products invoices and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation paperwork and deposits on time
