Currently, Bimbo Bakeries USA is seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join their team as Route Sales Professionals. This full-time position offers an attractive compensation package, including a weekly base pay of $478 plus commission, amounting to an annual average income between $65,000 and $75,000. The work schedule begins early at 3:00 am, with the added benefit of having Wednesdays and Sundays off, providing a balanced work-life routine. Employment terms are subject to the company's collective bargaining agreements, which include pension plans, medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off.

The Route Sales Professional plays a critical role in driving sales and maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring the timely and accurate merchandising, stocking, and promotional execution of Bimbo Bakeries USA's products at retail locations. This role requires a proactive and customer-focused approach, with responsibilities that include managing product rotation to guarantee freshness, securing additional display space to boost sales, and building strong relationships with store personnel. Candidates should be comfortable operating company delivery trucks safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate route settlements inclusive of cash, invoices, and inventory.

Ideal candidates will have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving history, and be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card. Those located in Indiana, Michigan, or Tennessee must be able to acquire a Chauffeur License. Physical abilities such as climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and kneeling for extended periods are essential, along with the dexterity to perform frequent reaching. Prior experience in Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) is preferred, as is the ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in written reports, to comply with Department of Transportation regulations and to effectively serve the public.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Must successfully obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in DSD is preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
