The Route Sales Professional role at Bimbo Bakeries USA is a dynamic position that requires an individual passionate about customer service, sales, and operational excellence. This role offers a weekly base salary of $1,125, translating to an annual average between $58,000 and $85,000. The position operates on a first-shift schedule with an early start at 3:00 am and benefits from scheduling that includes Wednesdays and Sundays off. This role is critical in driving the company's sales growth by maintaining and expanding the presence of Bimbo Bakeries products in retail stores.

As a Route Sales Professional, associate responsibilities include merchandising, stocking, and ensuring the quality and freshness of products on shelves and displays. Associates will use sales data to identify opportunities for securing new display space and setting up additional displays to maximize sales potential. Building strong customer relationships is essential, including following up on new account opportunities, executing promotions, and introducing new products to increase sales and shelf space. This role also involves daily route settlement procedures to reconcile products, invoices, cash, and inventory. Additionally, associates are expected to safely operate company route trucks, complete Department of Transportation (DOT) daily logs, and submit necessary documentation, paperwork, and deposits in a timely manner. The position requires physical activity such as climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and the use of fingers for extended periods, reflecting the physical nature of the job.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
  • Preferred 1-3 years of related experience in DSD

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
