Job Description
Bimbo Bakeries USA is a leading baking company recognized across the United States for its extensive portfolio of beloved bread, baked goods, and snack products. The company is behind well-known brands such as Arnold, Brownberry, Oroweat, Thomas English Muffins, Sara Lee, Entenmann's, and Marinela. As part of the world's largest baking company, Bimbo Bakeries USA employs over 20,000 associates nationwide, including bakery production staff, sales professionals, distribution teams, and corporate employees. This vast network works harmoniously to deliver fresh, high-quality products every day to consumers in multiple markets. At Bimbo Bakeries USA, the focus is on creating a diverse and inclusive work environment where associates can develop their skills, contribute authentically, and thrive professionally.
Currently, Bimbo Bakeries USA is seeking a dedicated Route Sales Professional to join their expansive team. This role offers a competitive salary averaging between $52,000 and $60,000 annually, including a steady weekly base pay plus commission. The position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule with an early start around 5:00 a.m., providing a structured yet dynamic daily routine. The Route Sales Professional is integral to the company’s direct store delivery (DSD) system, functioning as the face of the brand when merchandising and promoting products at retail partner locations.
In this role, the Route Sales Professional is responsible for merchandising, stocking, and ensuring proper product rotation to maintain freshness and quality standards on store shelves. The position demands strong sales acumen as the individual drives sales through securing new display opportunities, setting up incremental displays, and employing sales data to customize store-level strategies. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships is essential, not only for managing current promotional executions but also for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
Alongside business development tasks, Route Sales Professionals handle daily route settlement, meticulously accounting for product inventory, invoices, and cash transactions to maintain accuracy in financial and inventory records. Regulatory compliance is critical, as the role requires the safe operation of company vehicles, completion of Department of Transportation (DOT) daily logs, and adherence to federal driving regulations. This includes obtaining necessary certifications such as a DOT medical card and chauffeur licenses where applicable.
Bimbo Bakeries USA values the physical capability and willingness of route professionals to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, bending, stooping, pulling, and frequent reaching, which are essential to effectively managing the delivery and merchandising process. Prospective candidates with 1-3 years of DSD or related experience will find this role well-suited to their skills. Fluency in English is necessary to comprehend traffic signage, converse with customers, and complete required reporting accurately.
Bimbo Bakeries USA champion an open, forward-thinking culture with emphasis on equal opportunity employment and disability accommodations. Aligning with their #YouBelongAtBBU philosophy, the company offers full benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans, ensuring a supportive and secure workplace for all associates. Working for Bimbo Bakeries USA means being part of a reputable, growth-oriented organization where your contributions directly impact fresh product availability and customer satisfaction across numerous communities.
