The Route Sales Professional role is a dynamic position that plays a crucial part in Bimbo Bakeries USA's distribution and sales strategy. This role involves merchandising, stocking, and ensuring proper rotation of products across retail shelves and displays to guarantee optimal freshness. The sales professional drives revenue growth by securing additional display space, setting up promotional displays, and leveraging sales data to tailor store-level marketing tactics. Key responsibilities also include building and maintaining strong customer relationships, introducing new product lines, and following through with promotional execution. In addition, the role requires handling daily route settlements, managing product inventories accurately, and driving company vehicles with meticulous adherence to Department of Transportation regulations. The position offers a competitive compensation package including a $300 weekly base pay plus commission, averaging an annual income between $65,000 to $85,000. It is a first-shift opening with working hours from 4 am to 1 pm, Wednesday and Sunday off, complemented by comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a retirement plan. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License (If job location is in IN, MI, TN)
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Ability to obtain a Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, or TN
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand traffic signs and signals, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and frequent use of fingers

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
