The role of a Route Sales Professional at Bimbo Bakeries USA involves a dynamic combination of sales, customer service, and logistics responsibilities. As a key member of the sales team, you will be merchandising, stocking, and ensuring that products are properly rotated on store shelves and displays to maintain freshness and quality. You will leverage your sales skills to increase product visibility and drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and analyzing sales data to tailor strategies at the store level. Building strong customer relationships and following up on new accounts are essential parts of the role, along with introducing new products and services to maximize sales opportunities in both existing and prospective accounts.
Additionally, the Route Sales Professional conducts daily route settlement procedures, keeping accurate accounts of all products, invoices, cash, and inventory. Safely operating the company route truck and adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and logs are critical to ensuring the smooth and compliant delivery of products. Timely submission of required documentation, paperwork, and deposits is also an important responsibility, highlighting the need for strong organizational skills. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Department of Transportation medical card
- Successfully able to obtain chauffeur license if job location is in Indiana Michigan or Tennessee
- Ability to climb push pull bend stoop and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution is preferred
- Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public understand highway traffic signs and signals respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
- Ability to obtain chauffeur license if working in Indiana Michigan or Tennessee
- Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and respond to inquiries
Job Duties
- Merchandise stock and ensure proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee freshness and quality
- Drive sales by securing new display space and setting up incremental displays
