The Route Rider position at Bimbo Bakeries USA offers a unique opportunity to be part of the largest baking company in the world. This role is essential in delivering Bimbo’s products directly to retail customers and involves driving sales, managing inventory, and strengthening customer relationships. The position offers a competitive weekly base pay of $383 plus commission, equating to an annual average between $65,000 and $75,000. Candidates will enjoy an early morning shift schedule, with Wednesdays and Sundays off, supplemented by full benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a retirement plan.
As a Route Rider, the associate will merchandise, stock, and rotate products on store shelves and displays to ensure freshness and top quality for consumers. The role requires driving sales by securing new display spaces and deploying incremental displays while using sales data to inform strategies tailored to individual stores. Building strong relationships with customers and following up on new account opportunities are vital for success, as is the introduction of new products and services to maximize sales potential within existing and new accounts. Operational responsibilities include conducting daily route settlement procedures to manage product accounting, invoices, cash handling, and inventory counts effectively. Additionally, the Route Rider must safely operate company route trucks, maintaining proper Department of Transportation daily logs and submitting all required documentation and deposits punctually.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
- Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License (If job location is in IN, MI, TN)
- Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred
- Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Duties
- Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
- Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
- Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
- Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
- Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
- Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
- Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
