The Route Rider position at Bimbo Bakeries USA is a critical role responsible for representing some of the most beloved bakery brands in the United States. This full-time role offers competitive weekly base pay plus commission with an annual average salary range of $60,000 to $63,000. The work shift typically starts between 3:00 am and 5:00 am, with Wednesdays and Sundays off, providing a unique schedule for employees. Route Riders are entrusted with merchandising products, stocking shelves, and ensuring product freshness through proper rotation. They play an active sales role by securing new display spaces and setting up promotional displays to drive store sales. This role also demands proactive engagement with store accounts, building strong customer relationships, and introducing new products to maximize shelf space and sales.

Route Riders operate company route trucks and maintain strict adherence to US Department of Transportation regulations, including completion of daily logs and accurate route settlement procedures for inventory, invoices, and cash. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if working in IN, MI, or TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods and perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card

  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution preferred
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand highway traffic signs

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
