The Route Rider role at Bimbo Bakeries USA is a dynamic position that plays a crucial role in the success and reach of the company's daily operations. This position primarily involves merchandise management, product stocking, rotation, and display setup at various store locations to ensure that the freshness and quality of products are maintained for the consumer's satisfaction. The Route Rider is a vital ambassador for Bimbo Bakeries’ products, responsible for driving sales growth by identifying and securing new display opportunities within stores. This role requires a strategic focus on sales data to develop store-level plans and strategies, ensuring that new and existing accounts receive exceptional service and support. The Route Rider actively develops and maintains strong relationships with customers, follows up on new business prospects, and makes sure promotional activities are effectively executed.
Additionally, this role involves important administrative responsibilities such as conducting daily route settlements, maintaining accurate inventory counts, and handling invoices and cash with integrity. Operating the company route truck safely is a significant duty, along with complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations by completing daily logs and other required documentation on time. The position offers a weekly base pay of $1,025, translating to an annual salary range of approximately $53,300 to $58,000. Employees work a schedule starting around 5:00 am with Wednesdays and Sundays off, and there is a full benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
- Successfully able to obtain Chauffer License if job location is in IN MI or TN
- Ability to climb push pull bend stoop and kneel for extended periods
- Perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in DSD Direct Sales Distribution preferred
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public understand highway traffic signs and respond to official inquiries
Job Qualifications

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
- Successfully obtain a Chauffer License if required by state regulations
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to operate a delivery truck safely and adhere to DOT regulations
Job Duties
- Merchandise stock and rotate products on store shelves and displays to guarantee quality and freshness
- Drive sales by securing new display space and setting up incremental displays
- Use sales data to inform store-level strategies
- Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships
- Ensure the execution of promotions
- Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space
- Conduct daily route settlement procedures including inventory counts, invoices, and cash handling
- Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
- Submit required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
