The Route Rider position at Bimbo Bakeries USA represents an exciting opportunity to join the largest baking company in the world and become part of a nationwide family of hardworking associates. This role is a full-time position with a compelling weekly base pay of $1,300. The typical shift starts early at 3:00 am, with Wednesday and Sunday off, allowing for a balanced work schedule. Route Riders play a crucial role in driving sales by merchandising, stocking, and ensuring the proper rotation of bakery products to maintain quality and freshness. This job includes responsibilities for securing new display spaces, setting up incremental displays, and applying sales data to enhance store-level strategies, thereby directly influencing the company's market reach and growth.

Additionally, Route Riders take the lead in building and maintaining strong customer relationships by following up on new account opportunities and executing promotional activities. They introduce new products to maximize sales and shelf space, which requires a proactive approach and excellent communication skills. The role demands conducting daily route settlements involving handling products, invoices, cash management, and inventory control with a high level of accuracy and responsibility. Driving the company route truck safely in compliance with US Department of Transportation regulations is an essential aspect of the position, along with completing necessary documentation and paperwork on time. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, read and speak English sufficiently for required communication
  • Physical and mental ability to meet the essential functions of the job

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (direct sales distribution) preferred
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to follow DOT regulations and maintain required logs
  • Basic proficiency in managing paperwork and route settlement procedures

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
