Job Description

Hiland Dairy Foods Company is a well-established leader in the dairy industry, committed to delivering high-quality dairy products and exceptional services to customers. As a progressive and responsible company, Hiland Dairy Foods values safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction above all. Known for maintaining industry standards and a strong reputation, Hiland Dairy is dedicated to supporting its employees with a positive work environment and inclusive culture. The company offers a relief position for a Route Sales Driver, providing a weekly pay of $1210.00. This role is crucial in ensuring timely delivery and quality customer service throughout the service area.

The Route Sales Driver at Hiland Dairy Foods will be responsible for transporting products, handling customer transactions, and managing delivery schedules while complying with federal Department of Transportation regulations. Candidates will operate delivery trucks over established routes, selling and delivering dairy products directly to customer places of business. They will play a vital part in upholding the company’s reputation through professional and courteous customer interactions. This role involves various duties such as loading and unloading merchandise, maintaining sales displays, and ensuring that sales records are accurately kept. It also requires the driver to solicit new business and handle customer inquiries or complaints effectively.

This job requires physical stamina as the driver will often load and unload heavy products, some weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally moving stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds. Work conditions include exposure to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, and predominantly outdoor work regardless of weather conditions. Besides driving and customer interaction, the Route Sales Driver is responsible for routine vehicle maintenance and keeping the inside of the truck clean and sanitary. Safety, courteous behavior, and efficient work practices are essential as the driver represents Hiland Dairy Foods on the road and at customer sites.

This position is ideal for candidates possessing a Class A or B commercial driver's license, who are at least 21 years old, and able to pass DOT physical and drug screenings. While past route sales experience and a clean driving record are preferred, the company is committed to equal employment opportunities and considers all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Hiland Dairy Foods strives for workplace diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply for this challenging and rewarding relief position, ensuring a competitive compensation and an opportunity to be part of a respected dairy industry leader.
