As Canteen continues to grow and transform the foodservice industry, they are currently seeking a full-time Route Driver - Utility to join their team. This role is essential in delivering and merchandising a variety of products such as soft drinks, bakery items, specialty foods, snacks, and sundries to customer locations. It is a hands-on position that requires driving a company-owned truck along established routes, collecting money from machines, and ensuring product displays and vending machines are well-stocked and properly maintained. The Route Driver will also assist Customer Service Managers in daily operations, including opening and closing the route and training new staff as needed.
Working Monday through Friday with early morning start times, the position offers a fixed pay rate of $20.00 per hour, with the potential eligibility for commission based on performance. The role demands a proactive and customer-focused approach, as drivers are responsible for calling on existing customers, addressing service concerns, informing them about new products or services, and maintaining transaction records. Safety and cleanliness are paramount, with the Route Driver expected to maintain a safe work environment and perform routine sanitation of vending machines and equipment.

Job Requirements
- Previous route driving and merchandising experience required
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to work full-time schedule Monday through Friday
- Ability to start early morning
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to lift and carry merchandise safely
- Must be able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties
- Service a particular route or location during absence of regular employee
- Assist customer service managers with daily opening and closing
- Drive truck to deliver products such as soft drinks and snacks
- Place stock on shelves or racks in vending machines
- Collect stale or rejected merchandise
- Collect money from machines and refill bill and coin changers
- Record transactions and manage cash and product accountability
- Call on existing customers to assess service adequacy
- Inform customers of new products or services
- Resolve service complaints
- Select items from warehouse and load truck
- Prepare order forms for food and pastry products
- Perform routine maintenance and sanitation of machines
- Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
