Currently, Canteen is hiring for full-time Route Driver positions based at their Abilene, TX location. This role involves driving a company vehicle on a set route to deliver products and services, primarily servicing and replenishing micro market equipment. The Route Driver serves as a vital representative of Canteen, maintaining a professional image while developing strong client and customer relationships. Scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, this role offers a fixed pay rate of $20.00 per hour along with eligibility for commission and a notable sign-on bonus of $2,500. Job Requirements

  • Previous route sales or merchandising experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs consistently
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment such as box truck and handcarts
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years driving experience required
  • Preferred 1-2 years experience in a customer service position or minimum 1 year related experience
  • Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license unless otherwise indicated by state
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Ability or willingness to learn material handling equipment operation
  • Able to work independently and work unsupervised 98 percent of the work day

Job Duties

  • Maintain proper inventory levels and product distribution for micro market
  • Provide client and customer satisfaction in every aspect of job performance
  • Display a clear understanding of company policies and ability to administer as needed
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of micro market and other related equipment
  • Conduct minor service and adjustments on markets and report defective equipment to maintenance
  • Ensure truck is properly loaded with necessary products before starting daily route
  • Inform clients and customers of new products or services and resolve service complaints
  • Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers
  • Accountable for all receipt of goods, invoices, delivery tickets, cash received or collected and product
  • Conduct inventory reconciliation following district procedures
  • Keep company vehicle clean and organized and perform pre and post trip inspections
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
