Job Description

UniFirst is a prominent international leader in the $18 billion garment services industry. With a workforce of over 16,000 dedicated team partners, UniFirst proudly serves approximately 300,000 business customer locations spanning the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Recognized for excellence, the company has earned a spot in Selling Power magazine's "Best Companies to Sell For" and Forbes magazine's "Platinum 400 - Best Big Companies" list, showcasing its commitment to quality and innovation. UniFirst fosters an inclusive culture that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives, ensuring equal employment opportunities without discrimination. The company is committed to supporting its employees through comprehensive benefits, competitive salaries, and opportunities for career growth and development.

The role of a Route Coverage Specialist at UniFirst is an exciting and dynamic position integral to the success of the company's operations and customer satisfaction. As a Route Coverage Specialist, you will be the key service professional who steps in to cover delivery routes when the regular Route Service Representatives (RSRs) are unavailable. This role requires agility, proactivity, and the ability to manage variety, as it involves learning multiple routes and customer-specific details to provide seamless and exceptional service.

In this position, you are responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading clean garments, flat goods, and other products to customers along established routes. Additionally, you'll collect and secure used or soiled garments for return, ensuring timely and accurate service that aligns with customer standards. The role emphasizes excellent customer service, problem-solving, and operational excellence. You will independently resolve customer requests, manage invoices, conduct inventory audits, and uphold the safety and appearance of your delivery vehicle.

Safety is a top priority at UniFirst, and as a Route Coverage Specialist, you are expected to follow all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies to guarantee the well-being of yourself, customers, and the company. The position also involves collaboration with various teams, such as Service, Production, Sales, and Office Departments, to support tasks like new account installations, route assistance, rerouting efforts, and collections. Opportunities to upsell and strengthen customer relationships are part of your daily engagements.

The core competencies for the role include effective time management and adaptability to changing routes, conditions, and customer needs. A customer-centric mindset is essential as the company drives service excellence. While you will work independently, collaboration and teamwork within the broader company structure are vital for success.

This role offers notable advantages such as variety in daily duties, a fast-paced and agile working environment, and the autonomy to operate independently while being supported by a professional team. UniFirst provides a competitive salary along with benefits like 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, health and life insurance, paid time off, employee discounts, tuition reimbursement, and more. The position follows a Monday through Friday day shift schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Joining UniFirst as a Route Coverage Specialist means embarking on a rewarding career path filled with opportunities for advancement within a supportive and diverse workplace. If you are ready for a customer-focused, adaptable, and dynamic role that values your contributions and offers room for growth, UniFirst welcomes your application.
