Job Description

UniFirst is a prominent international leader in the garment services industry, operating within an $18 billion market. Established as a trusted provider, UniFirst delivers comprehensive garment and facility services across more than 300,000 business customer locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. The company employs over 16,000 team partners committed to upholding a culture of service excellence, innovation, and operational efficiency. UniFirst has earned distinguished recognition in the industry, including placement in the top 10 of Selling Power magazine's "Best Companies to Sell For" and recognition on Forbes magazine's "Platinum 400 - Best Big Companies" list. The company's success is underscored by its dedication to diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal employment opportunities for all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, disability, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy status, citizenship, or any other protected factor under anti-discrimination laws.

Joining UniFirst as a Route Coverage Specialist offers an exciting, dynamic, and fast-paced role that demands agility, proactive thinking, and adaptability. The Route Coverage Specialist serves as an indispensable part of UniFirst's operations by ensuring continuity of service whenever standard Route Service Representatives are unavailable. This role is central to maintaining strong customer relationships and seamless delivery operations across multiple routes. The specialist is responsible for learning multiple delivery routes in detail, including customer-specific needs, and providing consistent, high-quality service during each delivery shift.

The position requires the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of clean garments, flat goods, and related products while efficiently collecting used or soiled items for return. A key element of the role is to uphold exceptional customer service standards through clear communication, problem-solving, and active support of route operations. This role provides opportunities to engage collaboratively with various departments such as Service, Production, Sales, and Office teams to facilitate smooth route transitions, new account installations, and upselling activities.

Core competencies for the role include outstanding time management skills, adaptability to changing routes and schedules, and a strong customer-centric mindset. The dynamic nature of the job offers considerable variety—no two days are alike—making it ideal for individuals who thrive in environments where autonomy and teamwork harmoniously coexist. The role also requires managing operational components like invoice accuracy, inventory audits, and vehicle maintenance while adhering strictly to safety protocols and traffic laws to safeguard oneself and customers.

UniFirst invests in its Route Coverage Specialists by offering competitive compensation packages, career development opportunities, and a supportive, inclusive work environment. Employees benefit from a Monday through Friday day shift schedule that promotes work-life balance, in addition to comprehensive benefits including health and life insurance, 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, paid time off, employee discounts, and tuition reimbursement programs.

Joining UniFirst means embarking on a rewarding career with growth potential in one of the leading garment service companies worldwide. If you are an individual committed to safety, service excellence, and operational efficiency, UniFirst invites you to apply for this integral role and become a valued member of their diverse and high-performing team.
