As an equal opportunity employer, UniFirst prioritizes diversity and inclusion in the workplace, providing a supportive environment free from discrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, and other protected characteristics. The company values ethical recruitment and offers accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application process. UniFirst offers competitive compensation packages, including salary, profit sharing, health benefits, and growth opportunities, underscoring its commitment to its employees' well-being and professional development.

The Route Coverage Specialist at UniFirst plays a pivotal role in maintaining seamless operations by providing coverage for delivery routes when Route Service Representatives (RSRs) are unavailable. This position requires an individual who is proactive, agile, and enjoys variety, as no two days are the same in this dynamic, fast-paced role. Specialists receive extensive training to learn multiple routes thoroughly, ensuring familiarity with customer-specific details to deliver exceptional service. Key responsibilities include safely loading, transporting, and unloading uniforms, flat goods, and other garment products while collecting used or soiled items for timely return. The role demands excellent customer service skills to foster strong relationships through positive interactions and clear communication. Moreover, the Route Coverage Specialist must demonstrate problem-solving abilities to address customer requests independently and maintain loyalty.

Operational excellence is essential, including accurate invoice management, inventory audits, and maintaining vehicle safety and appearance. Compliance with safety standards and traffic laws protects the specialist, customers, and company alike. Collaborating with service and management teams, the specialist supports new account installations, assists RSRs, contributes to rerouting efforts, and participates in collection activities. Opportunities to upsell and strengthen customer relationships further enhance the role's scope. Core competencies such as time management, adaptability, a customer-centric mindset, and teamwork are critical for success in this autonomous yet collaborative position.

UniFirst emphasizes work-life balance by offering a Monday through Friday day shift schedule and a range of employee benefits, including paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts. This presents an excellent career path for those looking for continuous training, career development, and inclusion in a diverse work culture. The estimated salary range for this role is between $57,889.20 and $80,401.67 annually, although actual pay varies based on location, skills, and experience. This recruitment process remains open until the position is filled, reflecting UniFirst’s commitment to finding the right fit for this vital function.
