As a part of the Fortune 150 family, Core-Mark has firmly established its reputation for empowering customers, employees, and communities, generating over $23 billion in revenue through its extensive distribution centers across the United States and Canada. The company's commitment to excellence is reflected in its dedication to providing a wide range of products, programs, and customized solutions that meet the dynamic needs of its diverse clientele. In addition to its impressive financial standing and extensive network, Core-Mark champions an inclusive workplace culture, emphasizing equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
The role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is critical in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the food supply chain. Delivery drivers serve as essential representatives of the company, ensuring that customers receive their products punctually and in excellent condition. Beyond merely transporting goods, drivers build enduring relationships with customers, providing a friendly and professional interface between the client and Core-Mark. This position offers an attractive annual earning potential ranging from $80,000 to $100,000+, which will be further discussed during interviews, highlighting the value placed on this crucial function.
This full-time position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule with routes commencing early in the morning, typically starting between 3:00 am and 4:00 am. Drivers benefit from local routes that allow them to return home each night and enjoy weekends off, supporting a balanced work-life environment. The role involves operating either a tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport food and food-related products on various routes including intrastate, interstate, shuttle, overnight, and drive and drop deliveries. Adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards is paramount for ensuring safe and timely deliveries.
Core responsibilities include conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, verifying that tractor-trailer equipment meets safety criteria, and reporting any necessary repairs or safety concerns. Drivers are expected to conduct accurate load checks, secure freight properly, complete all required paperwork legibly, and manage delivery schedules efficiently. Interaction with customers, vendors, and coworkers demands professionalism to provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries. Drivers are responsible for unloading products at customer locations, verifying delivery through proper documentation, and managing returns, damaged goods, and customer payments when necessary.
The position also involves logistical duties such as moving equipment, maintaining cleanliness and organization within trailers and workspaces, and completing driver logs compliant with federal and company standards. Core-Mark supports its drivers with competitive pay and benefits which include day-one health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and much more. Opportunities for professional growth are plentiful within a company that values safety, inclusivity, recognition, and respect, making this a rewarding and stable career path for individuals committed to essential service delivery.
