As a Delivery Driver at Core-Mark, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the food supply chain, ensuring timely delivery of food and foodservice products while representing the company positively to customers. You will be responsible for driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, carrying out pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, complying with Department of Transportation regulations, and managing the loading and unloading process of goods. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- valid CDL-A license
- minimum age of 21 years
- comply with all state licensing and/or certification requirements
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- successfully pass road test
- valid current DOT health card or ability to secure one
- physical ability to hand-lift and use equipment for moving and stacking freight cases
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma/GED or equivalent

- must be 21+ years of age

- pass road test
- attain or maintain valid DOT health card
- able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack freight cases ranging generally from 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 60-90 pounds
- preferred 1+ years foodservice distribution industry experience
- experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems
- experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems
- customer service-related work experience
Job Duties
- perform all required safety checks including pre and post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and report safety issues or repairs
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- perform count check of items and verify customer invoices
- complete all required paperwork related to freight accurately and legibly
- move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules
- unload products and transport items to designated customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks on items and communicate with supervisor regarding order removals
- verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- collect money where required
- load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- unload equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers
- complete daily record of hours of service and enter log in accordance with DOT, state and company requirements
- perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock areas and secure all equipment at shift end
- perform other related duties as assigned
