Job Description
City Market Co-Op is a community-owned grocery store dedicated to providing a diverse selection of local, organic, and conventional food products to its customers. The Rounder position at City Market Co-Op plays a vital role within the Prepared Foods Department by assisting in the production of high-quality food offerings. This role focuses on preparing delicious meals following daily production plans, ensuring that products are fresh, tasty, and visually appealing. The Rounder will support various food production functions including preparation, stocking, cleaning, and compliance with City Market’s established procedures and practices related to operations, safety, and security.
This non-exempt, Grade 5 position reports directly to Prepared Foods Management and is available at all City Market locations. The starting wage for this role is $19.06 per hour. This position is part of the UE Local 203 union. Ideal candidates will be passionate about local food systems and interested in contributing to the cooperative’s mission of providing high quality, affordable food to the community. The Rounder will also ensure that all products are properly labeled and rotated in storage and refrigerated spaces, help with receiving and stocking new products, and assist with gathering ingredients from various departments as necessary.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- One year of line cook, sous chef or chef experience or two years of kitchen experience
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks
- Effective communication skills
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of natural and conventional foods and the food industry helpful
Job Duties
- Assisting in preparation, stocking and cleaning of all food display and production stations
- Ensuring products are labeled and rotated in all food storage and refrigerated areas
- Gathering ingredients from storage or from other departments as necessary
- Assisting with receiving and stocking new products when needed
- Ensuring that finished products are tasty, fresh and attractive
- Compliance with established City Market procedures and practices regarding operations, sales, safety, and security
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
