The role of Assistant Restaurant Manager at Nugget Casino Resort is a dynamic and pivotal position responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the restaurant. This leadership role is critical in ensuring complete guest satisfaction by maintaining high service standards, resolving guest complaints promptly, and fostering an environment that promotes team collaboration and efficiency. The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a key role in increasing the restaurant’s sales, profits, and brand awareness by executing operational policies that align with the resort’s standards and guidelines.

In this position, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will work closely with Team Members to ensure consistent, courteous, and efficient service while managing scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. They will monitor the restaurant environment, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with safety and health regulations. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is also tasked with employing financial acumen to interpret and apply financial reports that drive profitability and reduce costs through effective waste management and scheduling. Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is necessary to perform administrative duties efficiently.

Additionally, this role demands a proactive approach in recognizing team members who exceed expectations and promoting a positive workplace culture. The Assistant Restaurant Manager must adhere strictly to company policies, liquor laws with proper Alcohol Awareness Certification, and various regulatory requirements. Physical demands include the ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods, with the ability to lift products up to 50 pounds. Working conditions may vary and include exposure to smoke, temperature fluctuations, and noise, reflecting the dynamic environment of a high-volume restaurant in a busy casino resort. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3-5 years high volume restaurant supervision or management experience
  • knowledge of POS systems
  • advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification
  • ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
  • ability to lift and move product up to 50 lbs
  • fine finger manipulation
  • ability to work in environments with smoke, variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate with guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • resolve guest complaints and issues
  • monitor the team members of the restaurant to assure they provide service in accordance with company and departmental standards and take action to correct any deficiencies through training and discipline
  • prepare work schedules of team members and delegate work and station assignments
  • prepare team member performance evaluations and disciplinary notices
  • circulate through restaurant and coordinate activities of team members to provide efficient and courteous service to our guests
  • inspect and monitor cleanliness of the restaurant and comply with safety and health code regulations
